Material

If you need help selecting a material, our entire engineering staff with 35 years experience will aid you in your choice. We have experience in all common silicones used in medical products, including materials from Dow Corning, NuSil, Rhodia Silicone (formerly Applied Silicone), G.E., Wacker and Shincor. We go far beyond just material selection. We can help you custom-blend materials with specific physical requirements, colors or catalysts. Our knowledge of materials led us into building a cold room to store material to maintain the quality and shelf life.

Secondary Operations

Any operations required after molding are performed in our environmentally controlled clean room. We routinely perform secondary operations such as deflashing, slitting, visual inspection, post-curing, washing, and packaging. We constantly strive to improve our processes to reduce turnaround time and cost. Precision Associates constantly reviews its processes including our deflashing process. For example, we have developed a proprietary deflashing process which speeds up deflashing, reduces or eliminates hand operations, and avoids the detrimental effects of cryogenic exposure.

Value-Added Operations
We will provide any service to help our customers become more cost competitive. We will perform any process our customers need or would prefer to outsource. If this is assembly - whether subassembly or finished product - we will fulfill your needs. If you need packaging, we provide a fully validated packaging line.

Molding

Lim Molding
Molds and processes are selected and engineered for each application and use within our environmentally controlled clean room. The same care goes into the type of press used to mold the parts. Is a vertical or horizontal press needed? Should it be molded with gum stock or a different molding process? Our LIM presses incorporate the latest in microprocessor-based controls to assure consistency. In addition, the microprocessors allow us to collect any information the customer requires for process control, and the controls allow for easy process validation for those parts that require it.

Transfer Molding
To ensure consistency, our transfer presses were custom-built per our specifications using state-of-the-art process controls. These controls allow us to develop the process and lock out any changes. These controls also allow us to validate the processes as needed and to monitor the process as parts are being molded. Molds and processes are selected and engineered for each application and used within our environmentally controlled clean room. We control each aspect of the process such as injection pressure, which can be controlled from 50psi to 3000psi to fit delicate or complex parts.

Quality

Product/Process Assurance
Precision Associates is committed to quality products throughout the manufacturing process. Through our adherence to the principles of ISO 9000, the FDA's QSR and TQM, we have all of the bases covered. The extensive background and experience of our QA staff in ISO, GMP, Baldbridge, process validation, and all major areas will guarantee part and product assurance for medical devices. We produce quality plans for each part and product, plans which include documentation, validations, control inspections, certifications, and traceability.

Continuous Product/Process Improvement
All our employees are involved in and responsible for all aspects of product quality. We use a training scope-monitor to enhance discussion of issues along with individual and group training. The training scope is also a part of our continuous training program. Precision Associates is committed to continuous product and process training and improvement. Individuals are encouraged to raise issues in order to improve the products or process.
